Types Of Grass

By admin | May 7, 2008

There are two basic types of lawn.

Fine lawns are made up of narrow leaved grasses which give a soft velvety texture but need a lot of care and attention. They do not stand up to much wear and have been traditionally used for front gardens.

Hard wearing utility lawns are made of coarser grasses which grow fast and stand up well to family use.

Families with small gardens are just as likely to have hard wearing lawns everywhere, for ease of maintenance and low cost. Garden enthusiasts, particularly older people whose families have left home, often prefer fine lawns front and back for their better finish.

Fine lawns also look better when entertaining outdoors in the summer. An attractive garden furniture set looks fabulous in a cared for tidy garden.
