Spring Clean
By admin | May 20, 2008
The weather seems to have settled a little and spring is in full force, the tidy up of debris from winter is done and it is time to survey the garden ready for the summer. Spring is always a great time as the garden starts to show colour again, one of the best sights in spring is the covering of bluebells in the local woods, as a child I remember this vividly, although these can be quite difficult to bring into the garden it is not impossible and bluebells in the garden add a lovely touch, it is also the time that the trees start to show leaves in the spring and of course they begin flower.
This is a time to make sure the lawn is clean and cut to the correct height and that the garden furniture that has endured a wet winter is clean and usable, the hedges may need a trim and the flower beds tidying, spring in most gardens is a great time where we can see the work from the previous year and autumn come into play, most of us tend to leave the garden alone in winter and let the weather take its toll, but an occasional walk around to clear dead branches and plants can save a lot of time come springtime.
It is now that we see the explosion of colour and the return of our insect friends, the yellows and blues of the flowers, the green of the turf and the first bees and butterfly fluttering towards the new flowers remind us that it is spring and time for regrowth.
