Garden Seating
By admin | September 3, 2008
Garden seating is an intergral part of most gardens, but in a family garden it can be used to suggest a place for everyone-children and parents to sit and enjoy the pleasures that outdoor living and a well-planned garden can bring.
A seat that has it’s own space built into the design will always make the garden look well planned and structured.
Improvised seats can be a test of initiative, but are great fun to make. Children will find them exciting to sit on and they often make decorative focal points.
Tree seats also attract admiring comments and they appeal to children as much as parents. White paint helps to bring light to what can be a gloomy position, and attracts the eye from across the garden.
Family gardens should look lived in and loungers and hammocks will create this relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There are many types to choose from – select seating that will match the style of your garden, weather it be formal or country cottage. If you have a stately tree, it can become a support for a hammock and a swing seat for the children or grandchildren.
Sunloungers can be moved around the garden with ease. If you choose a bold colour they will act as a focal point. Placing two or more loungers together gives the impression of shared pleasure. Placing a small table between them with a collection of cool drinks will look even more tempting.
Even wooden garden furniture can be made comfortable with a few cushions.
