Garden Lounging Decks
By admin | February 14, 2008
When talking about decks in the architectural sense, decks are flat surfaces designed to be capable of supporting degrees of weight, functioning no different from floors, but are more outdoor in nature. They are often utilized in connecting various sections of a building or home, as well as complementary structures to garden landscape designs, as well as alternatives to the more stone based of patio classes.
As outdoor structures, decks were historically made using wood types like those of Atlantic White Cedar, Redwood and Western Red Cedar. But due to the over logging of these tree types, these days equally strong materials are opted over these. These days, decks are commonly constructed with teak, mahogany, ipe, composite lumber, treated lumber, and even aluminum and mixed plastics.
Bottom line, as outdoor structures, decks are designed to be able to withstand the outdoor elements. Deck furniture, ideally complement one of the more popular of functions of decks in a building or home, as they are geared to be spaces where owners could relax and unwind.
