Furniture and Gates For Courtyards
By admin | July 25, 2008
Wrought iron or aluminium garden furniture with an aged, ornate nature suits a cloistered shady courtyard best. Besides harmonizing with the walls, non ferrous metal furniture does not deteriorate, although it is usually necessary in spring to scrub off lichen and moss. Wooden furniture such as benches with integral tables and seats are always much in demand. In late autumn stand each leg on a brick and cover the entire table with a plastic sheet securely tied down to protect it from the winter weather.
Collapsible slatted furniture has the advantage that it can be taken indoors and stored. Finally, ornate wrought iron gates are ideal for entrances to courtyard gardens. They are not as dominant as wooden doors and allow the outside world to be seen at a glance.
