All About Pink Roses
By Frank | April 18, 2008
Many feelings can be shown with flowers. We may send flower arrangements to say we are thinking of another person, or to cheer them up. Flower delivery can be sent for any type of special event or occurrence, from the birth of a child to the death of a loved one.
Flowers carry a lot of fragrance and beauty. But all flowers are not chosen just for these characteristics, but for the special message that they stand for. Even back in the Greek and Roman times, flowers were associated with some emotions. However, the practice of conveying messages through flowers was made popular in the Victorian times.
In times past there were more rigid rules of decorum. This meant that certain feelings or emotions could not be verbalized or even said in a letter. Conventions were established about the significance given to certain flowers when by themselves or combined with others. Some of these meanings attached to flowers continue until the current time.
A rose is a rose is a rose. But not all roses say the same thing. For example, a red rose often symbolizes a deep and abiding love. But if your relationship is still in its early phases a red rose may be too much. Consider other colors such as pink which can express romance or even affection.
Pink roses have been around for quite a long time, and they are a natural hybridization of the red and white roses. Pink roses come in a large multitude of shades from the slightest rosy blush, to almost red deep pink. The more delicate shades of the pink rose are symbolic of innocence, and are especially well suited to children.
The color of a rose usually carries a specific meaning. Yellow roses used to symbolize romantic envy or waning love, but that has changed to something a bit more positive over the years. Now yellow roses tend to signify a desire to be friends or to make up after a fight.
Typically people will send pink roses to represent affection and red roses as a symbol of their passion but whatever reason you choose for sending flowers, they are sure to be greatly appreciated. A florist will help you to choose a color and can tell you what different flowers symbolize to help you get the right message across. They may even have a floral guide available to pop in with your bouquet so that the recipient understands your sentiments.
