Which garden furniture should you choose for the current season?

It is difficult to think about choosing garden and patio furniture when the snow is falling and the sky is grey but be careful we may have one of those real barbecue summers this year!

Surely you ask we cannot have yet another summer of endless rain and cloudy skies, I for one will remain positive.

If the summer is fantastic then garden furniture and outdoor products stockists will soon run short so it is better to buy early and be safe. Most suppliers of patio sets dont have all theri stock in until the critical Easter period but it is better to get your order in early so you are sure to have the item you want when the sun eventually does shine.

This year we expect there to be a siginificant choice of hardwood bench and patio sets, mosaic and also resin wicker. You should check how you will use these as some furniture can be left outdoors better than others.

Wood furniture for example does need some maintenance wood is a natural material and does not resist the elements totally.

Aluminium and particularly cast aluminium is really long lasting but the paint finishes can fade in time so it might be best to bring these indoors or at least to cover them.

Resin wicker is all about the quality of the material , thes best sets like alfresia stock use a special resin that will last 10 years or more with little affect from the climate or the sun. It is important though also to know what the frames are made from are they aluminium or steel?

Finally dont forget the garden cushions , on a hot summers day is it better to sit on a cotton cushion or a polyester one Alfresia use carefully selected material blends to ensure comfort colour resistance and quick drying in case these get wet.
